You’ve booked your trip.

Now it’s time get ready!

I know, I know, we said we had everything covered. However, there are a few important details that you will need to take care of before your trip with us.

Fishing License

If you are aged between 18 to 65 years old, you will need to have a valid fishing license. We recommend that you purchase your license before you arrive for your day on the lake for all those who will need a license.

Are you an Ontario veteran or active in the Canadian Armed Forces? Please enjoy free recreational fishing.

What to bring

The weather on Lake of the Woods can change quite drastically so come prepared! Your day may start out as a cloudy morning, but within a matter of hours, it can turn into a hot and sunny day.

We recommend you bring a bathing suit, sunscreen, towel, rain gear, extra layers and a hat on your trip with us. If you have a waterproof bag, we recommend it!

That’s it! Our guides take care of everything else.

Arrival Time & Location

To maximize your adventure on the lake, arrive at the docks for 8:00 A.M. sharp. Arriving any later will reduce the amount of time we spend on the lake doing amazing things.

We will meet at the Kenora Recreation Centre, conveniently located right across from Safeway. See the map below for the meeting location and parking lot.

Parking

There is a $5 parking fee for the day.

You can pay at the ticket machine or via the HotSpot Parking app. After paying for parking, park in Lot 7. Once parked, head to the boat launch docks by the water where your guide will be waiting for you.

We take care of the rest!

On board, we will provide you with pop and water, life jackets, fishing gear, and even a shore lunch if you do a full day tour. We will stop for bio breaks on shore as needed.

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on board, but you can contact your guide before the trip to make arrangements to have beer or wine with your lunch.

What you can expect your day to look like:
Pick-up at the boat launch is at 8:00 A.M., we fish all morning and then head to a secluded island on the lake for a shore lunch of fresh fish, “Duncan fries”, wild-rice pilaf and all the fixings around 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 PM. In the afternoon, we may do more fishing, visit beaches, or go swimming.

We look forward to hosting you and your guests!

p.s. your guide grew up on the lake, they will know all the sweet spots to make your day extra fun and special.
